The second problem is that there appears to be a 30K pixel limit (in one dimension) on files. Their profiles are very reasonable if you cannot make your own. (I make my own profiles from the Mac version and have two specially made from them. I don't think you can make your own profiles from the PC version. It also sends 16 bit files to the printer if you are concerned about banding. It seems to handle shadows and B&W much better than the OEM drivers for Epson and Canon. I use PrintFab with LightRoom, Photoshop, and Qimage on both a PC and Mac (except for Qimage of course). I'm just starting this thread to coax out any additional user experience perhaps with PrintFab or a competing product that isn't too expensive. 95 Beta version expires in March or April 2015 IIRC. Other brand rips can get ridiculously expensive, so here's hoping we see an end product out of PrintFab. Thats an affordable amount for the few prints i sell in that size range. The Beta history indicates some momentum towards that result.įor the Mac version, they offer a home version for $61 and a pro version for $170 or some such numbers. I kludged my way thru, but hope that the Windows version will be finally published for sale. The latest Beta made that much more difficult, but now that i read the available manual, its intended only for printing from PS and PS Elements - not LR, as far as i can tell. I was using printfab infrequently to print some for-sale panos from LR. The referenced page is a listing of the Beta versions for the Windows program. PrintFab is still in Beta (free) format for Windows but is out there as a finished product for Mac. For those that don't know the background, PrintFab is sort of a "RIP" that allows one to print longer lengths than currently available on some printers, e.g. ![]()
